Jef Boeckmans

studied philosophy and theology in Leuven, Utrecht, and Freibourg. He specialized in studies on spirituality and mysticism. He is a monk, a Trappist, and a guiding teacher of Zen sessions at the Abdij Mariatoevlucht in Zundert. He has practiced Zazen since 1970 and is engaged in the interreligious dialogue. After a meeting with Graf von Dürckheim, he studied Zen with Father Lassalle. Under guidance of Willigis Jäger, he completed his study and received his teacher’s degrees from Kubota Roshi of the Sanbo-Kyodan Society.
